Intelligent routing in SDN–MPLS
An overview of ongoing doctoral work on network routing and quality of service, separating research aims from outcomes.
Problem and context
How can routing decisions adapt to changing network conditions and quality-of-service requirements? This is the general context of ongoing Computer Engineering doctoral work at İstanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, begun in September 2024.
Role
This is the owner's doctoral research direction, not a commercial product or completed degree. The page introduces the topic, not a proven scientific contribution or accepted paper.
Topic scope
The CV records the title _Dynamic Intelligent Routing and Quality of Service Optimization in Software Defined Networks by Using MPLS_.
The topic connects software-defined networking, MPLS, and routing decisions. Unpublished algorithm designs and private experimental settings are not disclosed here.
Evaluation framework
The following metrics describe questions to evaluate in this area, not achieved results:
| Aspect | Evaluation question |
|---|---|
| Delay | How long does packet delivery take under a defined load? |
| Jitter | How much does delivery time vary? |
| Packet loss | What fraction of packets fail to arrive? |
| Throughput | What rate of data arrives successfully? |
| Link utilisation | How is load distributed across paths? |
| Recovery | How does the network respond to a path failure? |
Status and results
Ongoing research. No quantitative result or superiority over another routing algorithm is claimed on this page. A quality-of-service aim is not evidence of actual improvement.
Disclosure limits
Unapproved model details, settings, experiments, data, and research material remain private. Owner approval of this overview is not supervisor approval to disclose unpublished findings.
